The second mens race in the Birmingham cross country league for the 2025/26 season was at Cofton Park.

Date : 6th December 2025

Location : Cofton Park, Birmingham

The second race in the Birmingham cross country league for the 2025/26 season was at Cofton Park with both the ladies’ race and the men’s at the same venue. Fortunately, the showers held off and it was a good day.

Again, there was a good turn out with 10 ladies and 9 men running. After missing the first race with a bad cold I was determined to take part this time (Neil). As is usual we tried to get there early enough to support the ladies and it was good to see our youngest lady Abbie leading them home. However, I thought they all seemed to be enjoying it despite the muddy conditions.

The men were without their two youngest runners with JJ being ill and James and Sophie have become parents for the first time a couple of days before. Great news.

Long running team member Mike Tovey had a great run to lead the men home, whilst on this occasion I was just happy to get round safely. We all had some cakes supplied by Lee and others and then went home to get ready for the Club’s Christmas Party.
